1. What kinds of finishes are available for interior paint and when are they appropriate to use?

Matt: Has no shine, which makes it ideal for hiding wall imperfections. Best used in bedrooms and living rooms.

2. What primer should I use over gloss paint?


High Gloss: Very shiny and tough. Ideal for doors, trims, and furniture since it’s easy to clean.


When applying paint over a glossy surface, it is always best to use a high-adhesion primer that aids in ensuring good adhesion of the new paint. Lightly sand the glossy surface first, clean off the dust, and then apply the primer.


Dulux primers are a great choice because they bond well with glossy surfaces and make your topcoat last longer. After applying the primer and letting it dry completely, you can paint your desired colour on top.


3. What kind of paint is suitable for an interior brick wall?


When it comes to interior brick walls, the best paint to use is latex or acrylic because it "breathes" and prevents moisture build up. Be sure you clean the brick wall surface before you paint, and consider using a masonry primer, which help paint properly adhere to the surface of the brick.
